Outstanding innovative talents are elitist and leaders in all walks of life,and play an important role in promoting social development and progress.Cultivating outstanding innovative talents is an important measure for China to achieve the strategy of reinvigorating China through human resource development since the 21st century,and it's the key to enhancing Comprehensive National Power and winning the right to speak in the world.Since reform and opening up,all sectors of society have called for the cultivation of outstanding innovative talents to promote social and economic development.As an important carrier for cultivating outstanding innovative talents,Honors College has developed from "School of the Gifted Young" and "Experimental Class",and now all colleges and universities are competing to establish honors college.However,at present,there is no national research and analysis on China's Honors College,and there are many deficiencies in the development of honors college.Therefore,it is imperative to study the development of undergraduate honors college in China.The Honors College of China has experienced the tortuous development in the era of higher education popularity.On the basis of the analysis of general education,people have realized the importance of outstanding innovative talents and honors college.Looking back on the development of our honors college,it has gone through three stages: initial exploration,typical construction and comprehensive promotion.At present,the honors colleges of China's “985 project” university,“211 project” university and local universities at three levels have both commonalities and differences in management innovation and talent training.In terms of management innovation,they all have excellent cultivation goals,diversified and high-level faculty and collaborative system support within the university;in terms of talent cultivation,they have established a diversified and competitive selection mechanism,based on a high platform of personalized cultivation and achieved remarkable and commendable cultivation results.However,there are great differences in the training objectives,teacher resource,the importance of school leadership,the committee system,the criteria for triage and elimination,the level and form of international cooperation and exchange,and the effectiveness of training.At present,China's honors colleges still have long-term management mechanism construction problems,such as the establishment of piles,the stability of the faculty and the division of responsibilities,the synergy with other professional colleges on campus,the “scores-oriented” selection criteria,the “non-differentiation” of student sources,the excessive “discipline” of diversion phase-out criteria,the “convergence” of talent cultivation mode,the “ all-round landing” of international cooperation cultivation and other talent cultivation problems.It can be optimized by clarifying the school's positioning and giving full play to its unique advantages;establishing an independent teacher system and strengthening targeted training;unifying ideological awareness and forming a joint effort among all schools;adhering to the principle of strict selection and formulating scientific assessment methods;and improving the system of study visits and enhancing the capacity for international exchange.The construction of the Honors College is a systems project.Its reform and development is not only a milestone in the process of reforming higher education in our country,but also a landmark achievement.The subsequent construction and innovation of the University's Honors College needs to learn from the previous experience,combined with its own reality,continue to maintain the characteristic and diversified development direction,and make greater contributions to cultivating high-end talents.
