As a visual language learning tool,mind maps have profound educational value for cultivating and developing students' thinking ability,and have unique application value for carrying out rich and lively teaching activities.Therefore,the mind maps are widely used in the teaching activities of various subjects in middle school.In this study,the mind maps are introduced into the form of classroom summary,and according to the characteristics of the cultivation of different types of thinking ability of middle school students,the case design of geography teaching is carried out and the teaching method of geography classroom in middle school is optimized.First of all,this paper combs the relevant literature at home and abroad,sums up the concept,types and application characteristics of thinking maps,and explores the theoretical basis of thinking map in the field of pedagogy and educational psychology.This paper analyzes the rationality of classroom teaching of mind maps.Secondly,according to the different thinking modes,such as divergent thinking,associative thinking,systematic thinking,reverse thinking and so on,this paper discusses the applicable scope of different types of mind maps in the case design.Combined with the characteristics of eight kinds of mind maps pattern and the teaching content,the teaching design is carried out.Finally,the teaching practice is carried out with the first grade of Number 6 Middle School in Hengyang City as the research object.The main contents of this part are as follows:(1)A questionnaire survey was conducted on the autonomous learning ability of one fresh men in Number 6 Middle School in Hengyang City.The study found that most of the students have a good learning attitude,but also full of enthusiasm for learning.However,most students simply define the learning goal as recitation memory,and lack the ability and method of learning,most students do not know how to transfer and apply the knowledge.There is a lack of direction and method in making learning plan and time control in geography learning,which leads to the disorder of geography learning.(2)After the teaching practice of mind maps,the application of mind maps in geography classroom is investigated by questionnaire.This paper mainly analyzes the cognition,interest,use and teaching effect of thinking map.Most students think that mind map is helpful for them to understand the knowledge points of memory and obtain an efficient sense of learning achievement.(3)Randomly select a video to record in the geography teaching of mind maps.Flanders analysis is used to analyze the classroom structure and teaching style.The research shows that the teaching atmosphere of mind maps are good,and the students' learning styles are mainly self-discussion learning.
