Game is a newly-developed form of media,it has gradually become one of the most important entertainment tools in daily life.The Three Kingdoms culture plays an unique role in the history of China's traditional culture.Relevant stories of The Three Kingdoms are not only well-known in China,but also have their unique markets and audiences all over the world.Therefore,there are endless game adaptations of The Three Kingdoms culture.Games can quickly attract players to enhance their influence with the help of well-known classic stories.They can also adapt traditional texts to change people's cognition and attitude towards classic culture.Based on The Romance of The Three Kingdoms,The Three Kingdoms series is produced and released by a Japanese company—KOEI that is close to our culture.Its transmedia adaptation,game design and diverse narration have attracted a large number of players.The enduring popularity of the series also proves that it is unique in terms of game narration.This paper takes the cross-media narrative in the game "Romance Of The Three Kingdoms" as the clue,through the analysis of narrative elements and narrative strategies,explores its changes in the process of game adaptation,and finds its game narrative characteristics.Through qualitative research methods,such as in-depth interviews,and relying on the cross-media narrative theory in narratology and communication studies.The acceptance of players to this cross-media narrative can be understood.Considering that the release date of "SAN 13" among this 14 releases is relatively recent,and a stable and active group of fans and players has been formed,this paper tries to summarize the characteristics of cross-media narrative of the game through interviews with relevant players,and puts forward suggestions on relevant adaptations in the future.
