In recent years,with the continuous improvement of China's overall national strength and the steady implementation of the Belt and Road strategy,the number of international students in China has been on the increase.In the meantime,as the foremost difficulty which foreign students face in exotic cultures,the cross-cultural adaptation problem is becoming more and more prominent.Whether we can correctly handle these problems and help them to overcome the adaptability problems encountered in the cross-cultural process so that they can grow healthily and make their own achievements is a great test for the education of international students in China.In order to further explore the cross-cultural adaptation problems faced by foreign students during their stay in China,this dissertation selects international students studying in China University of Petroleum(East China)as samples and adopts the Self-rating Depression Scale,the revised Zhu Guohui's Learning Adaptation Scale as well as the revised Ward and others' Sociocultural Adaptation Scale to measure their adaptation in the three aspects of psychology,learning and social culture.The study found that the overall situation of cross-cultural adaptation to foreign students in China is good,with a moderate upper level.Among them,International students' learning adaptation level is highest,followed by the level of sociocultural adaptation,and the level of psychological adaptation is relatively lowest.Further comparing the means,the survey results show that there are differences in gender,age,the time to study in China and Chinese proficiency etc.in the psychological,learning and sociocultural adaptation of international students in China.However,SPSS statistical results show that only gender,the time to study in China,the type of study,overseas experience,the degree of understanding of China,the degree of understanding of China University of Petroleum(East China)and the availability of overseas study guidance have a significantimpact on psychological adaptation of foreign students;only cultural circle,the type of study,the degree of understanding of China University of Petroleum(East China),Chinese proficiency and the availability of overseas study guidance have a significant impact on learning adaptation of foreign students;only cultural circle,the time to study in China,major studied,the degree of understanding of China,Chinese proficiency and the availability of overseas study guidance have a significant impact on sociocultural adaptation of foreign students.Among them,the availability of overseas study guidance has a significant impact on the psychological,learning,and sociocultural adaptation of international students in China.In addition,in seeking social support,the findings show that students are more willing to seek help from family and relatives and their compatriots in China when they encounter psychological and sociocultural adaptation problems;international student managers and Chinese teachers are the main source of social support for international students in China,when they encounter learning adaptation problems.Finally,in order to cultivate and enhance the cross-cultural adaptability of international students in China,this study proposes the following measures from colleges and universities,teachers and students: improve admission guidance for international students,change the management ideas for international students and ameliorate social support services for international students;strengthen education teaching ability,improve intercultural communication skills,and actively monitor the status of international students;prepare well for study abroad,maintain a good attitude,attach importance to improving Chinese proficiency,and actively expand "circle of friends".
