The problem of homogenization of the development of ordinary high schools in China is serious,and the country has issued a series of policies to encourage and promote the diversification and characteristic development of ordinary high schools.As the core carrier of diversification and characteristic development of ordinary high school,what is the internal mechanism of its emergence and development,which is one of the basic questions that must be answered in the process of diversification and characteristic development of ordinary high school.This study attempts to explore the development mechanism of the characteristic curriculum of ordinary senior high school from the perspective of institutionalization.This study takes D school in S city as the case study,through the observation,the interview,the physical collection and so on method collects the data,to explore the cause,practice course,problem dilemma of D Middle School's characteristic curriculum,on the basis of this in-depth analysis of the institutionalized perspective behind the emergence and development of the school's characteristic curriculum generation mechanism.And it is found that the institutionalization of D Middle School's characteristic curriculum originates from the resultant effect of endogenous demand and external institutional change.After three stages of germination,development and maturity,the characteristic curriculum is institutionalized as innovation,habituation,objectivity and precipitation.Each stage has both successful exploration and difficulties.The development of characteristic courses is not only promoted by symbols,practices and artifacts as system transmitters,but also influenced by three factors: organizational system,faculty and social resources.Based on the discussion of the institutionalized development mechanism and experience of D Middle School's characteristic curriculum,the following suggestions are put forward from the perspective of institutionalization: first,to accurately locate the characteristics and obtain the recognition of teachers and students;second,to implement the system transmission and enrich the characteristic forms;third,to strengthen the system construction and reconstruct the school system;fourth,to pay attention to teacher training and enhance teachers' professionalism;fifth,to use social resources to ensure the implementation of characteristics.
