With the acceleration of urbanization and the continuous increase of urban population, the travel of urban residents is inevitably affected by the existing "urban disease"--traffic congestion. To solve the traffic problems in cities,it is necessary to have a deep understanding of residents' travel rules. However, the influence of family factors on residents' travel behaviors cannot be ignored. Moreover, due to the different economic environment of each city, the travel behaviors of residents in different cities will also be different.Based on this, this paper uses the 2017 China time survey data and the urban spatial efficiency index calculated by the big data of DiDi platform to study the travel behavior of young couples in urban nuclear families and immediate families. The study found that the presence of children in families significantly increased the travel needs of young couples for family support and child care in all urban areas. The presence of the elderly in the family can significantly reduce the travel needs of young couples in the family for family support and child care, and can increase the travel needs of young couples for work, social and cultural entertainment. From the perspective of city level, residents in first-tier cities and new first-tier cities have lower demand for family-supported travel, residents in second-tier cities have higher efficiency for work travel, and residents in third-tier cities have higher demand for family-supported travel and child care travel. When formulating traffic policies or forecasting traffic demands, traffic administrative departments should take the factors of family structure into consideration, and the development of urban traffic infrastructure should draw on the experience of cities with high travel efficiency.
