The major theme of this paper is the exploration and practice of opening the pottery community in senior high school and the practice method of it is the pottery class in No.1 middle school of Jungar Banner,Inner Mongolia.This paper is the open topic which is based on the excellent education and teaching platform of No.1 middle school of Jungar Banner and it is also written through a kind of teaching mode of pottery class that is possible to run in practice.The pottery class is also available to promote according to the reality.In order to achieve my aim,I have done research considering all the elements and all the angles to excavate the possibility of running the pottery community class in senior high middle school.Ceramic art is a course to stimulate the creative potential of students.When students have ceramic community class in high school,their body coordination,emotional balance can be cultivated.The class also plays an active part in educating the students to dig out their own spatial Intelligence,to develop their innovative ability,co-operative ability and dealing with personal relationship.Through ceramic art,students are likely to be creative,be eager to learn and draw lessons from the art works to have creative thinking and method.At last,students can have the ability to make pottery works on their own.No.1 middle school of Jungar Banner is located in the economic development zone of Jungar Banner,the town of Sha Gedu.There is unique Kaolin in thedevelopment zone,and we have five big potter's workshops and our school has made use of this featured resource to open the pottery class.Ceramic Art in China has a high historical value and open unique artistic charm,so to open pottery class by using local resource is the requirement of Curriculum Standards of Art.Through the study of traditional Chinese culture ceramics can cultivate students ‘sense of national identity and national pride.What's more,the making of pottery is a very practical activity and the craftsman needs to conceive in the process of practice.The brain,the eyes,and the hands all work together in harmony to make a new and splendid work.The application of ceramic art course in art teaching in No.1 middle school is able to promote the development of students' personality to cultivating innovative gifted people.This paper focuses on exploration and practice of setting up ceramic art community course in senior high school.As a professional art teacher,I have summarized the concrete cases and teaching reflection of the ceramic art course in our school hoping to offer useful reference to other teachers.
