Since the publish of a series of relevant policy documents on study tour by the government,study tour has gradually spread across the country.The Education Department of Inner Mongolia,along with other 10 departments,have also issued the “Guiding Opinions on Promoting Study Tour of Primary and Middle School Students of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region”,making the establishment of study tour projects with local characteristics a top priority.As the capital city of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,Hohhot boasts unique regional characteristics and rich geographic resources.This paper attempted to develop and utilize the geography study tour resources of Hohhot in combination with geography teaching in junior middle schools.This paper has adopted the document analysis method,case analysis method,field investigation,and action research method,and mainly focused on the resources and contents that are suitable for study tours,as well as development channels of curriculum resources for geography study tours in junior high school.Based on constructivist learning theory,naturalistic education theory,post-modern curriculum theory,and geography theory,10 typical study tour cases for junior high school were selected for comparative analysis.With comprehensive analysis of junior high geography curriculum standards,the teaching materials,and geographic resources of Hohhot city,this paper attempted to develop and utilize study tour resources in Hohhot,so as to provides ideas for geography teachers in the development of geography study tours resources,and contribute more course resources for geography study tour in Hohhot.The following conclusions are drawn: First,according to the analysis of relevant documents and cases,it is concluded that the development of geography study tour resources for junior high schools in Hohhot should follow the principles including safety,typicality,integrated learning,research-based learning,and local geography.The development process is:resource collection and investigation ? resource screening ? resourcedesign and integration;the development of study tour resources should be based on the actual needs of teachers and students,the geographic resources of Hohhot city,geography curriculum standards in compulsory education,with emphasis on cultivating the core literacy of geography discipline and the junior high geography teaching materials.Second,the research found that the resources suitable for junior high school geography study tours should bear the features of safety,typicality,convenient transportation,and explorability.Based on these principles,109 geographic study resources were selected and were integrated into 6 major categories.Third,this paper concluded that the teaching content suitable for the development of junior high geography study tour should have relevance to local geography,and at the same time be practical,fun,inspiring,and suitable for hands-on operation.Based on these principles,12 themes of study tours have been compiled.Fourth,six categories of geography study tour resources for junior high schools of Hohhot were developed including natural landscape,cultural heritage,popularization of science,agricultural landscape,industrial landscape,and public transportation.Fifth,through research,the author concluded that the application plan of study tour resources should consist of six parts: research theme,research goals,research route and schedule,research activity preparation,research activity plan,and finally summary and evaluation.The author designed 4 resource application plans for geography study tours in junior high schools of Hohhot.
