Comprehensive thinking plays important effects in the current and future geography learning of students in junior middle school.It can help learners understand geographical things comprehensively and promote the understanding of man-land relationship.Improving the comprehensive thinking through the study of local geography can cultivate students' local feelings and help students pay attention to natural and social development from the perspective of geography.In order to improve junior middle school students' comprehensive thinking through local geography learning,this study defined the concepts;established the goal of junior middle school geography comprehensive thinking;collected,developed and analyzed local geography resources on the basis of the established selection principles;explored the effect of this method through the use of resources.The results are as follows:(1)Through interview and survey,the characteristics of the students' comprehensive thinking level are obtained: the familiarity with natural elements is higher than humanistic elements;students have some cognition and understanding of factor synthesis and local synthesis,but the number of analysis angles is small and the practical application ability needs to be improved;the comprehensive understanding of time and space is relatively good.(2)Combined with the study of literature and textbooks,the selection principles of local geography cases were determined.According to the selection principle,the local geographical resources suitable for teaching were selected and developed.On this basis,referring to the analysis results of the current situation of students' comprehensive thinking,Shanghai Lin-gang Special Area was selected as a teaching case.Then the further thinking,summary and reflection were made according to the effect of teaching practice.
