"Nanny" Elderly: Dilemma And Relief

With the development of society,the family structure has changed,and the traditional extended families in cities and towns are basically gone.The core family has become the main family model.At the same time,the marketization,urbanization and industrialization have changed people's life style and rhythm,increased the economic burden of the middle-aged and young people's families,and increased the work pressure of the young people.As a result,many young people in families do not have enough time and energy to care for their children.They can only rely on "idle people",such as old parents and elders,to replace or help themselves to care for their children.In this way,a new social phenomenon,the alternative care,has become more and more common.The proportion of families in the alternative care has increased year by year.According to the survey of 20083 elderly people in urban and rural areas of China conducted by China Aging Research Center,66.47% of the elderly care for their grandchildren(Xu Yan,Pei Liying 2012).In this paper,the author takes the old people who care for their grandchildren in H District of Hohhot as an example,expounds the current situation of their physical,psychological and life and the difficulties in their real life,and analyzes the old people who care for their grandchildren in different generations because of their heavy responsibilities and pressures,constraints and freedom,as well as family and interpersonal relationships The negative effects on physical and mental health caused by the contradictory state.To explore ways to help the case owners out of difficulties through the intervention of social work cases,It is suggested that the community should pay attention to and care for the "special groups" of the "nanny" elderly,carry out community recreational and cultural activities suitable for the "nanny" elderly,relieve physical and mental pressure,set up counseling and counseling stations,promote the community custody services for infants and young children before entering the park,solve the daily care problems of infants and young children,and help them Help the "nanny" elderly find theirown living space,and improve their sense of gain,happiness and security.
