Since 2003,drama has been officially included in the music curriculum of regular senior high schools,called "Music and Drama Performance".In the "Curriculum Standards of Music for Regular Senior High Schools(2017 Edition)" published in 2017,"Music and Drama Performance” was renamed "Music and Drama" and was listed as one of the six required(optional)modules.Although this module has been officially included in the curriculum standards for 17 years,there are still few middle schools offering the "Music and Drama" module.This module is a challenge for many teachers.Through learning and observing the current status of the teaching of the "Music and Drama" module in three high schools in Guangzhou city,this study mainly focuses on the current class launching situation and actual teaching situation of the module,the teachers' understanding of the module and their specific ways to implement teaching,and students' opinions of the module.The thesis is divided into four parts.The first chapter is an introduction,which illustrates the origin of the topic selection,research questions,research objectives,and definitions of concepts,etc.,and reviews the current research status by combing through the literature.The second chapter includes the research process in which the methods such as observation,interview,and questionnaire are used to design the contents of classroom observation,interviews with teachers,and questionnaires for students.The third chapter contains the research results and analysis.According to the requirements of the "Curriculum Standards of Music for Regular Senior High Schools(2017 Edition)",this chapter describes and analyzes the results from different perspectives based on "Music and Drama" class observation,one-on-one interviews with the teachers,and the questionnaire survey of the students.Then the chapter presents a summary in terms of objectives of teaching,contents to teach,and forms of teaching.The fourth chapter,based on the current status and research results and based on the guidelines of the "Curriculum Standards of Music for Regular Senior High Schools(2017 Edition)",discusses the curriculum goals and content requirements of the “Music and Drama” module and emphasizes that the teaching of “Music and Drama” should reflect the value of the music discipline.Finally,combining the actual situation and the requirements of the curriculum standards,the thesis proposes four suggestions for the teaching of the "Music and Drama" module: make good use of the existing teaching materials and select the contents to teach;attach importance to Chinese classic works and inherit our excellent culture;combine the artistic characteristics of drama and perform the function of educating people;and integrate multiple teaching resources and create a win-win situation.This paper expects to better promote the launching of the "Music and Drama" module,cultivate cultural confidence,and construct a senior high school drama course with Chinese characteristics.
