As the Biology Curriculum Standard for Ordinary Senior High School (Experimental), which will be referred to as Standards for short, was published in 2003, the New Biology Curriculum Reform in High School has been started. Since 2007, senior school students in China began to receive the education based on the New Curriculum throughout the country. Until now, the Biology Curriculum Reform for Senior High School has been carried out for almost 4 years, achieving pretty satisfactory ends to some extent. However, the author of this paper found some problems with the implementation of the Standards in the course of educational practice.The researcher has surveyed the arrangements of teaching time, the operation of achieving the Curriculum Objectives, the situation of Inquiry-based Learning, the utilization of Curriculum Resources and teacher resources, and the assessment systems of schools in Hainan, Jiangsu, Liaoning, Jilin and Hebei Provinces, by means of questionnaires and data-collecting. This paper is aimed to find out the influential factors of the implementation of the Standards and make suggestions to improve the carrying out of it.As the data manifests, the amount of biology class hour is less than sufficient, reflecting a want of more focus from school's officials; students' learning attitudes are negative, lacking interest in biology; teaching methods are more traditional than innovative, heavily relying on knowledge-instruction, ignoring the cultivation of learning abilities and affections; the equipment of biology labs is not complete, unable to meet the requirements proposed by the Standards (experimental); the method assessment system is not perfectly made full use of; the Curriculum Resources haven't been effectively developed and utilized; teacher's professional training is not enough, resulting in insufficient development of the teachers.In view of the above situation, implications are made in respect to aspects in the implementation strength of schools, implementation level of teachers, and the assessment systems, to enhance the effective implementation of the Standards: specify the Curriculum Objectives; promote creative and dynamic school activities; improve teachers' professional ability by regular training or advanced study; highlight the significance of biological teaching and increase the biology teaching funds; emphasize practical learning such as operating experiments; exploit Curriculum Resources sufficiently; transform teachers' educational concepts; enhance the communication between teachers and students; heighten career expectations of teachers; adjust the assessment system.
