In the 21st century,under the environment of increasingly fierce international education competition,many countries have carried out basic education reform to improve the quality of education.After ten years of Curriculum Reform,China promulgated the Compulsory Education Music Curriculum Standard(2011 edition)in 2011,Britain also revised the national music curriculum in 2013.The music curriculum standards for primary schools in the two countries are the guidance documents issued by the state on music education in schools,which can reflect the nature and characteristics of music education in primary schools,therefore,this paper chooses the current Chinese and English primary school music curriculum standards as the research object,mainly using the literature research method,the text analysis method and the comparison research method to carry on the comparative analysis,with a view to China's primary school music curriculum development to provide a new perspective and ideas.The research content of this paper mainly includes six chapters: the first chapter defines the basic concepts involved,systematizes and summarizes the authoritative and valuable relevant literature at home and abroad,the second chapter outlines the development of the music curriculum standards in Chinese and English primary schools from a historical perspective,and explains the characteristics and evolution of the standards,China's music curriculum standards have gradually developed under the control of the government,with a clear “Political brand”.The impetus for the reform of the British music curriculum comes more from the internal development of the music discipline,this paper explains the social environment and policy orientation of the revision of the current Chinese and English primary school music curriculum standards,and introduces the contents of the texts,which will provide an analytical basis for the comparative study in the following chapters,this paper analyzes the similarities and differences of the current music curriculum standards in primary schools between China and Britain.The common features are as follows: both China and Britain attach importance to students' emotional experience,encourage music practice,and emphasize the comprehension of music culture,the organizational structure contains the nature,goal and content of the curriculum,the teaching modules contained in the teaching content are basically the same,the evaluation criteria reflect the multi-channel,multi-dimensional characteristics;The differences are mainly reflected in the following aspects: the educational concept of aesthetic education and development of creativity,the detailed,concise and comprehensive organizational structure,the teaching content of appreciation and infiltration of creation,the abstract and concrete evaluation criteria,etc.,based on the above research,the paper suggests that we should pay more attention to the cultivation of creativity,strengthen the flexibility of the curriculum,enhance the interpenetration of the teaching contents,and perfect the standard system of the curriculum evaluation.At present,China's basic education reform has entered a new stage.This paper makes a comparative study of the current Chinese and English primary school music curriculum standards,and makes a useful exploration in the field of Chinese and foreign comparative music education,the results are of great theoretical value and practical significance to the reform and development of primary school music curriculum in China.
