The music curriculum is an integral part of the basic education components in regular senior high schools.In recent decades,the music curriculum was treated as a basic curriculum for all students in senior high schools,and learning music became the basic task of every student in school,which provides a good way for students to learn music and is also beneficial for cultivating music-based cultural qualities among students.While gaining certain growth and progress,the music curriculum in senior high schools also encountered many problems that do not meet the development requirements in this era,for example,the different criteria for judgment,different roles,insufficient influence,and different concepts in the curriculum;the inconsistency between the purpose of teaching and practice;the content of courses in violation of the reality;the mismatch between teaching method and actual situation,and the problems in the standard of teaching evaluation methods.The theory of multiple intelligences by Howard Gardner refers to the ability of people to solve problems and create new things in a specific situation.By using the empirical measurement method,he demonstrated that multiple intelligences are the intelligent foundations possessed by individuals.Each individual is different in the intelligent degree and tendency,and each people has the unique governance structure and learning method.The introduction of the theory of multiple intelligences ushered in a high degree of attention and awareness: The truly effective education must recognize the breadth and diversity of intelligence and place equal emphasis on the cultivation and development of students' abilities in every aspect.The teaching methods and means should be flexible and diversified based on the teaching object and teaching content.Students should be taught in accordance with their aptitude.The evaluation methods for students should also be diversified,focusing on the cultivation of different intelligences of different individuals.The design concept of the music curriculum standard in regular senior high schools clearly defined the development plan for music education in senior high school stage.The music education is a very important part of senior high school education and plays a crucial role in promoting the musical quality of young people in China.In the curriculum standard,it is clearly defined that the music curriculum is classified into six parts,among which a compulsory course is music appreciation,and other five courses are optional that can be chosen according to actual situations,including singing,performance,creation,music and dance,and music and opera performance,which conforms to the theory of multiple intelligences by Howard Gardner.Therefore,on the basis of music appreciation textbooks from People's Music Publishing House,this paper takes three regular senior high schools in Huainan City,Anhui Province as research objects to analyze the current music appreciation teaching from the perspective of theory of multiple intelligences.The study focuses on three issues: I.The analysis of present status of music appreciation teaching in regular senior high schools on the basis of the theory of multiple intelligences;II.The reflection of the theory of multiple intelligences in music appreciation textbooks from People's Music Publishing House;III.The countermeasure for music appreciation teaching in regular senior high schools on the basis of the theory of multiple intelligences.This paper is classified into four chapters excluding the introduction.Chapter II is the theoretical overview of the full paper,mainly illustrating the theory of multiple intelligences which serves as the theoretical basis of the full paper and the related content of music curriculum standard in senior high schools which serves as the theoretical foundation of the full paper,and briefly describing music appreciation textbooks from People's Music Publishing House.Chapter III is a brief description of teaching cases and the statistics of questionnaire survey.The results were analyzed statistically from the perspective of classroom teaching practice of teachers and questionnaire survey of students respectively.First,the teaching of teachers consists of teaching practice and interview,which illustrates the process of teachers understanding and selecting textbook content in combination with the curriculum standard to form the teaching design.In addition,the relationship between textbook presentation and the theory of multiple intelligences was also briefly analyzed from the perspective of the theory of multiple intelligences.Second,the questionnaire survey of students consists of objective questions and subjective questions.Finally,the author carried out the comprehensive statistical analysis over the survey results and conducted an objective statistical analysis from the perspective of the theory of multiple intelligences.Chapter IV is a further analysis by the author over the multiple intelligences involved in music appreciation textbooks from People's Music Publishing House and classroom teaching practice from the perspective of the theory of multiple intelligences.First,it is a subjective analysis over the investigation content in Chapter III.Second,it is also a test of the proportion and application of the theory of multiple intelligences in music appreciation teaching of regular senior high schools and further proves the relevance of the theory of multiple intelligences to music appreciation teaching in regular senior high schools.Chapter V is a result discussion over the music appreciation teaching in regular senior high schools.On the basis of teaching case analysis and investigation statistics and from the perspective of the theory of multiple intelligences,the countermeasure research of music appreciation teaching in regular senior high schools is further discussed in combination with the understandings over the textbook content and the observation result from classroom practice.In addition,some introspection was proposed from the teaching perspective of the theory of multiple intelligences.
