Argumentative writing has always been the emphasis and difficulty of Chinese composition teaching in senior high schools.In students' argumentative writing,some problems come up often,such as shallow opinions,devoid of novelty in materials,devoid of logic in the process of argumentation and so on.Current comments are favored by readers with their own thinking and timeliness.Based on the problems in argumentative writing and previous studies,this paper intends to combine argumentative writing with news and current affairs comments,and proposes the idea of using current comments to assist senior high school students' argumentative writing.It aims to stimulate students' interest in writing,help them tackle the problems in argumentative writing and cultivate their social perspectives.This paper is divided into three chapters.In the first chapter,it mainly clarifies the relationship between current comments and argumentative writing.Firstly,it analyses the connotation and characteristics of current comments.Secondly,it analyses the connotation of argumentative writing and several common ways of thinking.Lastly,it compares current comments with argumentative writing,analyses the similarities and differences between senior high school students' argumentative writing and current comments writing and analyses the feasibility and shortcomings of using current comments to assist senior high school students' argumentation writing from macroscopic view.In the second chapter,through distributing questionnaires to senior high school students and interviewing with individual teachers,it aims to find out the existing problems in the teaching of argumentative writing assisted by current comments in front-line teaching.Front-line teachers begin to pay attention to current comments.But in actual teaching,current comments are only used as "material library" to accumulate materials,which are not fully utilized.Current comments and argumentative writing teaching don't combined closely enough.In the third chapter,based on the analyses of the existing problems which are caused by using current comments to assist argumentative writing,the author puts forward concrete suggestions from the selection principle of current comments,guiding students to read current comments,using current comments to cultivate critical thinking,and broadening the way of senior high school students' current comment writing.The author believes that introducing current comments into argumentative writing can,to some extent,improve the problems in argumentative writing and provide inspiration for the development of argumentative writing teaching.
