Objective This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of childhood sexual abuse(CSA)in different period by sample characteristics among Chinese nursing females,to explore the relationship between childhood sexual abuse(CSA)experience and sexual behavior in adulthood among female nursing students,and to provide scientific reference for sexual behavior intervention.Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted among 2549 female students from four medical schools byself-administered questionnaire “College Students Health and Risky Behaviors in Anhui Province”.The questionnaire included general demographic information,childhood sexual abuse,sexual behavior,etc.Data processing and statistical analyses were performed using IBM SPSS software 23.0.Differences of categorical variables between different perceptions were evaluated with Chi-Square test.Multivariable logistic regression analysis was used to investigate the relationship between childhood sexual abuse and sexual behavior in Chinese nursing females.Results Among 2549 female nursing students,143(5.6%)reported having had sexual intercourse after 18 years old,141 reported having hadsexual intercourse with the opposite sex,6 reported having hadsexual intercourse with the same sex,and 4reported having sexual intercourse with both sexes.The report rate of sexual behavior of nursing students in undergraduate colleges(3.9%)was lower than that of junior college(6.8%),the second-grade nursing students reported the highest rate of sexual behavior(7.8%),the lowest in first grade(4.0%),nursing students and The reported rate of sexual behavior was the lowest in all parents with good relationship(All P<0.05).Compared to the students who had not experienced CSA,the students who had experienced CSA reported a higher percentage engaged in sexual intercourse with adjusted odds ratios(a OR)ranging from 1.23 to 1.76(P<0.05).Conclusion The results further showed that the CSA of girls in our country is not uncommon,as reported before in our country and in the other countries and is associated with sexual behavior in adulthood.The prevention of CSA has important public health significance for promoting the physical and mental health of college students.
