The stage of transition from kindergarten to primary school is an important period of children's physical and mental development,which requires the cooperation of kindergarten,primary school and parents.In the previous studies,researchers paid more attention to the work of kindergartens and primary schools in the transition stage,while ignoring the important role of parents.In order to better reveal the parents' understanding of the transition stage,this study conducted a research on the parents' understanding of transition stage based on the objects of the parents of Weifang Beihai kindergarten and the parents of the Weifang Beihai school.Then the problems of parents in the transition stage were identified and corresponding measures were proposed based on the results of the study.The research methods of questionnaire survey and interview were used in this study,and 166 valid questionnaires and 6 interview records were received.The questionnaires included 81 questionnaires for kindergarten parents and 85 questionnaires for primary school parents.In order to obtain accurate result,SPSS,a professional data analysis software,was used for processing and analysis.The questionnaires were used to study the parents' awareness of the purpose,importance,and education subject of the transition from kindergarten to primary school.The results showed that parents in primary school had a higher understanding of the purpose,the importance and the education subject of transition stage than parents in kindergarten.Then,the understanding of educational content of transition from kindergarten to primary school was studied from the six dimensions,including physical health education,language education,cognitive education,social development education,self-care education,learning habits education.The results of the interview showed that although there were various problems when their children just enter primary school,parents generally recognize the role of the education of the transition stage and will continue to strengthen the education of first-grade students after they enter primary school.Based on the above results,seven practical and operable countermeasures for the transition stage were proposed,including raising parents' awareness of the importance of the transition,raising parents' awareness of the education subject of the transition,improving parents' practical ability,using summer vacations for children's transition promotion,strengthening children's education after entering primary school,setting an example for children and properly handling the relationship between primary school,kindergarten and society.
