A Study Of The Role Of Sports Etiquette In Ideological And Political Education

China is in the midst of accelerating social and economical transformations with more diversified social values and more varied trends of thought.To achieve the goal of “whole staff,whole course and all-round cultivation of the integrity of students”put forward by President Xi Jinping,ideological and political education practitioners must adopt novel teaching methods.Sports,an important content of “Morality,Virtue,Wisdom,Beauty,and Labor”,has always been an important carrier of ideological and political education.Sports etiquette,as a major component of sports culture,are codes of conduct presented in the whole exercise process.They are characterized by formal appearance,solemn dress,good manners and humble speech externally,and moral cultivation and cultural literacy internally.Taking “sports etiquette” as the object of study,this dissertation puts forward their ideological and political education functions,namely,cultivating the mind,spirit,appearance and morality.Centering on ideological and political education of sports etiquette,this dissertation includes five chapters.Chapter ? introduces the research background of the topic,as well as its theoretical and practical significance.By analyzing overseas and domestic studies on this topic,the author develops the research approach and research ideas.Chapter ? outlines the background of sports etiquette.By conducting a literature analysis,the author clarifies their development,patterns and classifications,and proposes theoretical basics for their ideological and political education functions.Chapter ? states the demand of modern times to apply sports etiquette into ideological and political education.Starting with necessity and feasibility analysis,the author puts forward “Three dimensions” and “Three basics”with sports etiquette at its core.Chapter ?,the focus of the dissertation,proposesfunctions of sports etiquette----“cultivating the mind,spirit,appearance and morality” on the basis of pedagogy,psychology and sport physiology.Chapter ?describes practical applications of sports etiquette in ideological and political education.Taking into consideration of subjectivity,diversity and progressiveness,the author puts forward four approaches(Teaching by precept and example,model demonstration,atmosphere influence and gradual advance in due order)to improve ideological and political education effectiveness of sports etiquette.
