With the implementation of the new curriculum reform concept and the change of the proposition trend of the geography college entrance examination,the textbook based teaching can not meet the needs of geography review.Thematic teaching can overcome the disadvantages of knowledge orientation,help students acquire cognition,improve thinking,enhance concept,expand ability,and improve the core competencies of Geography in physical and mental participation.These characteristics are in line with the educational objectives of the new curriculum reform and the requirements of the assessment objectives of the college entrance examination.In order to change the teaching method of Geography in senior three,carry out the goal of "Morality Education" and cultivate the core competencies of geography,this paper uses the methods of literature analysis,interview,questionnaire and educational experiment to try to apply the thematic teaching in the review of Geography in senior three and carry out the experimental research of teaching.First of all,this paper sums up the concept of thematic teaching through literature analysis,and guides the application of thematic teaching in the review of senior three geography.It defines the theoretical foundation of this study,including Constructivism,Zone of Proximal Development,the Theory of Multiple Intelligences,Discovery Learning Theory,which provides theoretical support for the research.Through questionnaire survey to analyze the current situation of geography review of senior three students in sample schools,it is found that the current school has not deep understanding of the new trend of college entrance examination proposition,and there are still deficiencies in the cultivation of geographical core competencies in teaching,which shows that it is necessary to change the teaching mode of geography review in senior three.Through interviews with senior three geography teachers,we can understand their views on thematic teaching.They haveused it unconsciously in teaching,and can combine their own teaching experience to put forward the steps of thematic teaching,which shows that it is feasible to use thematic teaching in the review of senior three geography.Based on the above research,in order to effectively implement the theme based teaching,the author puts forward five principles: geography,integrity,subjectivity,authenticity,and mobility.Based on the above five principles,the design processes are constructed: determining the theme;introducing the theme;deepening the theme;sublimating the theme;evaluating teaching.According to the principles and processes of thematic teaching design,this study takes the course "the Influence of Industrial Production Activities on Geographical Environment" as an example,implements teaching experiments,and through the analysis of questionnaire survey after class,the results show that the geographic review of senior three based on thematic teaching has the effective advantages for students to master the core knowledge system of geographical examination,improve the quality of geographical thinking,and improve the ability to solve practical problems.
