This paper is mainly studying the development of Integration in African American basic education after the Word War II.It aims to promote racial integration and gradually improve the quality of African American education.The process of Integration is the African American education which gradually tends to equal educational opportunities.The paper,with the change of Integration as the main line and by the educational opportunity's theory,explores the development of African American basic education after World War II.Combined with the characteristics of the development of African American basic education after World War II,the process of Integration in African American basic education can be divided into three stages: free Integration(1954-1965),compulsory Integration(1966-1982)and independent Integration(1983-Now).Throughout the course of the change,we find that each stage has its own development characteristics and existing problems: in the stage of free Integration,although the sound judicial system and the black people's own attention to education promote the racial school cooperation to a certain extent,the double school system still represents the inequality of the starting point of education;in the stage of compulsory Integration,the federal government to increase education The elimination of the dual school system by means of financial investment and legal enforcement not only makes the black basic education realize the integration of school race,but also makes its dropout rate decrease obviously.However,due to paying too much attention to the race balance and neglecting the quality in the achievements of students from different ethnic groups,it fails to achieve the goal of "learning well" for black students at the level of basic education.In the stage of independent Integration,various educational options are provided by various modes of running schools,and equity is achieved to help black people enjoy the educational results in the stage of basic education.It can be seen that the integration in American basic education is a process of gradual improvement and optimization.The federal government increases investment in education and policy guidance to help African Americans realize change the "going to school" start to strive for " having a good school".Integration is under the protection of law,aiming to eliminate the de facto segregation in school after the adoption of busing plan,by innovating school teachingforms and optimizing educational resources provide various educational choices for blacks and other ethnic minorities,which not only guarantees the black Americans have "going to school" rights,but also promotes the balanced development of basic education quality in American States.
