This paper investigates and analyzes the resources of badminton courses,the opening of badminton courses,the awareness of students to participate in badminton,the basic situation of students' badminton activities in five independent colleges in Gansu Province,the cognition of students,the degree of participation,the basic situation of students' badminton associations(clubs)and the competition situation of sports teams,etc.A more comprehensive and objective understanding of the current situation of students badminton in independent colleges and universities in Gansu Province to find out the main characteristics of its development,to analyze its existing problems and constraints.and make corresponding suggestions.To provide reference for the healthy,sustainable and all-round development of badminton for students in independent colleges and universities in Gansu Province.The findings are as follows:Five independent colleges and universities in Gansu Province have insufficient number of badminton teachers.The number of PE teachers is seriously insufficient relative to the overall number of students in colleges and universities.In addition,the general rejuvenation of PE teachers in colleges and universities is a good phenomenon,but it is not particularly prominent in professional skills and is not very high in educational and teaching ability.In the aspect of course setting,the course setting is not reasonable enough,and the course content and the course examination content have a single problem.In terms of badminton associations,five independent colleges have badminton associations without clubs,two of which have their own badminton teams and regularly organize training.In terms of participation in competitions,there are fewer group competitions organized or participated by independent institutions.In view of the above situation and existing problems,the following development countermeasures are put forward :(1)adjust the traditional teaching mode of badminton course,innovate the teaching content,enrich the teaching method,pay attention to the difference between the students,so that each student can achieve the effect of common progress through the study of badminton course.(2)In terms of teachers,in view of the actual situation of colleges and universities in Gansu Province,we should appropriately introduce badminton teachers with rich teaching experience into the campus,improve the obstacles to the institutional mechanism of colleges and universities,increase the training of existing badminton teachers,enhance the teaching ability of badminton teachers,enrich teaching methods and improve the teaching level of teachers,and(3)increase the investment of teaching equipment funds and strengthen the construction of stadiums and facilities.(4)We should paymore attention to it,change our thinking and raise the level of attention that school leaders attach to badminton.(5)Establish and improve the mechanism of badminton competition in independent colleges and universities in Gansu Province,and strengthen the management of badminton competition in independent colleges and universities.
