The Relationship Between Parenting Style And Children's Self-confidence

Self confidence is a sign of the continuous maturity and development of the individual's self-awareness,and an important measure of the development of individual mental health.The individual pursues the value of life through the correct cognition and evaluation of his own ability and skill.Early childhood is an important period for the formation and development of individual self-confidence.Good self-confidence can enhance children's social adaptability and promote them to form correct self-awareness and healthy personality.Previous studies have found that the development of selfconfidence is not only affected by individual internal factors,but also by external factors,especially family factors.It is very important for the development of children's self-confidence.Therefore,this study mainly discusses the relationship between parenting style and 4-6 years old children's self-confidence.In this study,Yang Lizhu's parenting style questionnaire and Wang Erui's 3-9 years old children's self-confidence teacher questionnaire were used to investigate 400 children's parents and teachers in their classes.The conclusions are as follows:1.On the whole,the difference of parenting style in age is very significant,but there is no significant difference in gender.2.There are significant differences between the overall characteristics of parenting style and the number of children in the family.However,there is no significant difference between family structure type and parenting style.3.There is no significant gender difference in the development of children's selfconfidence.There are significant differences in the class.4.On the whole,there is a significant difference between the parenting style and children's self-confidence.There are significant differences in children's self-efficacy,achievement and self-expression in the Democratic type of education;there are signi-ficant differences in children's self-efficacy and self-expression in the autocratic type of education,but there is no difference in children's achievement.5.Democratic parenting style can significantly predict children's self-efficacy,achievement and self-expression.Therefore,in order to cultivate children's self-confidence,this study puts forward some targeted suggestions from the perspective of family education.In the future,we should cultivate children's self-confidence in a scientific way and make them become a confident person.
