In the information age,reading methods have undergone major changes.From paper reading to electronic reading and digital reading,human reading has achieved a leap from the writing era,the printing era to the audiovisual era.The diversity of reading media makes inter-media reading an irresistible reading trend.This is not only the development direction of students' reading ability in the new era,but also a challenge for Chinese teaching with paper media as its core.Cross-media reading teaching,as an organized and orderly teaching activity of teachers and students around cross-media texts,can enable students to master cross-media reading knowledge,form cross-media reading skills,and cultivate correct media values.However,there are only a handful of studies on cross-media reading teaching,and the development of cross-media reading teaching in primary school Chinese teaching also lacks attention.Therefore,this study enters elementary schools to investigate the current status of the development of cross-media reading teaching in Chinese,finds out the current problems and attributions of cross-media reading teaching,and finally proposes corresponding development suggestions to promote the effective development of cross-media reading teaching.This research adopts the research methods of literature method,questionnaire survey method and interview survey method.After collecting relevant documents and sorting them out,it sorts out reading,cross-media reading,Media reading ability and the concept of teaching across media.Then surveyed students and teachers with questionnaires and interviews.The survey results show that primary school students have the experience and development needs of cross-media reading,but teachers face multiple problems in the development of cross-media reading teaching: lack of high-quality media resources,teachers lack awareness and Students' understanding of cross-media reading and learning;in the development of teaching,there are still problems such as less teaching practice,single methods,lack of value guidance,andlack of teaching feedback.In addition,schools also lack support for teachers' development of cross-media reading teaching.In response to these problems,the author has explored the reasons for media resources,teachers,teaching,and schools,and puts forward suggestions for these four aspects: The first is to prepare for media resources for cross-media reading teaching,and develop teaching materials in this regard.Departments,schools,and teachers should make efforts.The second is that teachers should form a conceptual thinking of cross-media reading teaching,including a new view of student development in the information age and a Chinese teaching view of cross-media reading.The third is to improve cross-media reading.The teaching path of teaching,among which,the goal,content,development method and evaluation method of cross-media reading teaching should be clarified.The fourth is that schools should provide institutional support for the development of cross-media reading teaching,do a good job of teachers and training and incentives,and provide a guarantee for the effective development of cross-media reading teaching.
