Based on the theory of second language learning motivation at home and abroad,and the actual situation of Immaculate Conception Academy Middle School,this article investigates and analyzes Chinese learning motivation of Senior High School Students in Philippine Filipino Chinese Schools through questionnaires,classroom observations,and individual interviews.The results explore the factors that affect the motivation of Chinese learning in Philippine Filipino Chinese high school students,and on this basis,we derive strategies for inducing Chinese learning motivation of Philippine Filipino Chinese high school students.The questionnaire survey shows that Chinese learning motivation of Senior High School Students in Philippine Filipino Chinese Schools are not high.The main motivations for learning are mainly passive and instrumental motivations,and the integration motivation is relatively low.The types of learning motivation are passive motivation,instrumental motivation,interest motivation,situational motivation,achievement motivation,and integration motivation.Grade,whether Chinese or not,and personality have a great influence on Chinese learning motivation.The eleventh grade interest motivation,integration motivation,achievement motivation,situational motivation are higher than the twelfth grade.The interest motivation,integration motivation,instrumental motivation,and achievement motivation of Chinese students are higher than those of non-Chinese students,and the situational motivation of non-Chinese students is higher.The situational motivation of extroverted personality students is higher than those of introverted personality students,and the achievement motivation of introverted personality students is higher than that of extroverted personality students.Classroom observations and individual interviews show that the Chinese learning motivation of Senior High School Students in Philippine Filipino Chinese Schools in the two semesters is decreasing,and the factors that affect the decline of Chinese learning motivation include internal and external factors.According to the survey results,strategies for inspiring Chinese learning motivation of Senior High School Students in Philippine Filipino Chinese Schools are proposed from four aspects: teachers,teaching methods,teaching materials,and curriculum.
