The Chinese learning motivation is able to stimulate students directly and promote theChinese language learning activities as well as affect the language teaching effect andteaching quality indirectly. While the lack of Chinese learning motivation of students is acommon phenomenon in secondary vocational school, which has aroused the public concern.The situations mentioned above are both due to the students themselves and the external influ-ence.The author has analyzed the causes of vocational students’ lack of Chinese learningmotivation and proposed the stimulating strategies of their Chinese learning motivation basedon the marketing majors of a secondary vocational school.This thesis covers five parts and the main content is as followed:Part One The research status of Chinese learning motivation and theory basis of the topicresearch.Part Two The collection, reorganization and analysis of materials and statistics domesticand abroad are done here. The author has made the use of method of documentary tosummarize the lack of learning motivation of Chinese as well as the foreign students.Meanwhile such educational psychology theories related to the learning motivation as thereinforcement theory, self-efficacy theory, hierarchy of needs theory, achievement motivetheory, attribution theory, self-worth theory and so on have been borrowed and analyzed toprovide theory basis for this topic.Part Three The manifestation and causes of vocational students’ lack of Chinese learningmotivation. The author has made a thorough investigation and analyzed the vocationalstudents’ Chinese learning motivation based on the marketing majors who display such lack inChinese learning. They have showed indifference, fear and boredom towards the subject.They have less autonomy in learning for some reasons and are lack of correct learningmethods. Meanwhile they have a poor classroom discipline thus leading to inefficient learning.The author has taken advantage of the case analysis method and the interviewing method tolook for the causes of the problems mentioned above. There are some internal factors, for example: most of the vocational students are lack of certain learning needs and goals; they area little bit fickle though lively and cheerful in personality. In contrast there are also someexternal factors, for example: the misadministration of school and the improper education ofparents as well as the various temptations of the surrounding environment.Part Four The stimulating strategies of vocational students’ Chinese learning motivationThe author has proposed the stimulating strategies in the internal as well as external aspectson basis of the causes of lack of Chinese learning motivation and some practicalworking experience. The internal stimulating strategies include: to trigger the internal needsof the vocational students’ Chinese learning; lead the students’ to theappropriate attribution; provide students with cooperative learning competitions tomobilize their initiative in study; utilize the high-tech equipments such as the multimedia toinspire students’ learning interest. While the external stimulating strategies are as followed: toset the Chinese learning goals based on the professional features; the students’ feedback andevaluation of Chinese learning should be given back to them timely and appropriately; theteachers and the parents are suggested to be joined up to boycott the negative social impact onthe students.
