High-quality and balanced development of compulsory education is one of the important issues in international research at present.Governments and residents of all countries are actively promoting the balanced development of compulsory education,with special emphasis on equitable educational results,requiring every child to obtain fair and quality educational results,while also paying attention to the development of students' physical health.The unique research perspective of geography plays an important role in the study of the balanced development of compulsory education.On the basis of previous research experience and guided by the theory of educational equity and the theory of balanced development of educational quality,this paper selects Dalian junior middle school students as the research object by combining quantitative research with qualitative research.The findings include:First,the average score and median of the school examination results in the county between the basic balance between schools,the main urban schools in the southern part of the city are basically the average excellent type,the median excellent type,the mean good machine median good type,and so on,and the vast rural areas in the northern part of the city to low quality balance.Second,there are significant differences in the proportion of high scores of students' academic achievement in the city area,and there are great differences between schools,districts and counties,especially in urban and rural areas where the proportion of rural areas is small and the proportion of high scores of urban schools is generally high.Third,the academic achievement gradually decreases from the core area of the main city to the periphery area of the main city,from the south of the city area to the northern edge of the city area,and the achievement difference between the peripheral area of the main city and the core area of the main city is not big,showing the overflow phenomenon of the education quality of the city,while the change of academic achievement from the peripheral area of the main city to the urban area of the county and the urban area of the city periphery is great,and the decrease speed is very fast.On the whole,academic achievement forms the distribution pattern of circle structure in urban space.Fourth,the prevalence of obesity overweight among junior high school students in Dalian is higher than that of adolescents in the whole country.Meanwhile,the phenomenon of obesity overweight and vital capacity in the central part of the city and the pattern of spatial mass differentiation are more complicated.The vital capacity of the students showed a mass pattern of spatial differentiation.The spatial differentiation of the combination of students' physical health and academic achievement is more complicated.There are a large number of schools with low academic achievement and high obesity and overweight rate,especially in Lushun Kou District in the south and Changhai County in the east of the city.Fifth,the northern rural areas of city are still the key areas to improve the quality of education,especially Wa-fang-dian City,where the students' academic performance belongs to the lowest and most problematic counties and cities.
