Social Work Intervention In Cyberbullying Among Teenagers

With the development and popularization of Internet technology,network has become an essential part of teenagers' daily life.We found that nearly 60% of teenagers have access to the Internet before 5 years old,and they have been online for seven of eight years.The network is a double-edged sword.In recent years,the cyberbullying phenomenon accompanying the network has become increasingly serious.Cyberbullying refers to an aggressive act(e.g.,ridicule,abuse,intimidation,harassment,etc)carried out deliberately in web pages or application scenarios(e.g.,network communities,forums,short video platforms,social software,etc)through some forms(e.g.,text,picture,audio,video,etc)by teenagers,using new media such as the Internet and smartphones,repeatedly and over time against a victim.As a new form of bullying,cyberbullying comes along with the development of media technology and presents different characteristics from traditional campus bullying.How to effectively intervene in cyberbullying? It's an important issue that social work researchers need to solve urgently.Teenagers aged 12-16 in Y school of Nanchang City are taken as the research objects.We can know more about the basic situation of cyberbullying among teenagers and explore the methods and ways of social work intervention through questionnaires and in-depth interview.The survey data covers the types,manifestations,causes,hazards of cyberbullying and the cognition and response of teenagers.It describes the basic situation about cyberbullying of teenagers in Y school of Nanchang City in general.On this basic,this paper attempts to explore the intervention path of cyberbullying from the perspective of social work.Guided by rational emotive therapy and ecosystem theory,it establishes the intervention program of “prevention,repair,tracking and cooperation” oriented towards social worker.In order to effectively prevent and control the phenomenon of cyberbullying,we have to combine the forces of teenagers,families,schools and social organizations to work together.
