Group Work Intervention Study To Reduce The Junior High School Students' Bullying Behavior Based On Rational Emotive Therapy

In recent years,the phenomenon of school bullying has become increasingly prominent,seriously affecting the healthy growth of students.Schools and the community began to pay attention to the causes of bullying and its governance.A large number of previous studies have shown that middle school students are most likely to be bullied during their adolescence.Therefore,this study will discuss the current situation and causes of school bullying in junior high school students from the perspective of school social work.Based on the "rational emotional therapy" proposed by Alice as the theoretical basis,the group work method will be used to intervene the school bullying of junior high school students.Adopting questionnaire,this study uses stratified sampling to select 257 junior high school students from A school in Nanchang City and issue a paper questionnaire to investigate their actuality of school bullying.Descriptive statistical analysis is performed on the samples with SPSS20.0.The results show that 33% of students have cognitive biases about school bullying(for example,they believe that "school bullying is normal,the weak are meat,the strong do eat").In terms of handling,38.2%of the bullied people adopt the methods of "silently endure" and "revenge";33.5% of the bullies bullied others because they think bullying is "just a joke";15.4% of the bystanders choose "look on indifferently or turn a blind eye,or even get involved.The cognitive bias of junior high school students on school bullying and their negative coping styles are important causes of school bullying.In addition,the causes of school bullying are also related to family,school and society.According to the survey results,based on the emotional ABC theory,the author carried out six group work once a week for 10 bullies recommended by the head teacher.The purpose of the group work is to correct the misunderstanding of bullying behavior on campus by bullies,let them learn to control their irrational emotions,and finally eliminate their bullying behaviors.In addition,observing,satisfaction questionnaires,and simple coping style scales were used to evaluate the bullies' perception and coping style.The evaluation results show that the emotional control ability of the bullies have been greatly improved.At the same time,concept,performance and harm of school bullying behavior have been thoroughly understood,and the methods of preventing and responding to the school bullying behavior have been mastered,which proves the effectiveness of intervention effect from group work.Finally,the author puts forward feasible suggestions from the perspectives of raising teachers and students' awareness,how families and schools should prevent school bullying,and how social workers should use group work to intervene in different bullying subjects.In the mean time,the author also summarizes the experience of social work intervention in preventing school bullying,and finds out some problems in the process of intervention.Summarizing and reflecting on these problems,the achievements and shortcomings of the whole research process have been consolidated.
