To promote a new type of people-centered urbanization and encourage 100 million non-registered urban residents to settle down in cities and towns is an important task for high-quality urban and rural development. In this context,it is more necessary to study the realistic needs of the agricultural migrant population,so as to analyze the difficulties and obstacles in the process of citizenization. With the development of social economy and the improvement of material conditions, education is gradually placed in the most important position in the urbanization decision-making of rural families.Driven by basic education resources, the school-age population and accompanying parents from rural families gather in cities and towns, and the education-related population is prominent in the urban population structure, presenting the phenomenon of "urbanization in school bags".This study focuses on three issues: first, based on the field research of Taihe County in Fuyang City in northern Anhui Province,it explores the population, industry and spatial characteristics of the town driven by basic education. The second is to study whether the long-term stable urbanization or the short-term flowing urbanization is promoted by basic education, and summarize the characteristics of both in the aspects of family division of labor, action decision and spatial activities.Based on the behavior observation of students' family units, the paper sorts out the decision-making logic of family-centered micro-units in the process of basic education-driven urbanization.Thirdly, from the empirical research,we should sort out the internal logic of basic education driving urbanization, build a theoretical system based on China's national conditions, and provide a reference for the government and planning units to make decisions. This study draws the following conclusions:(1)the urbanization driven by basic education has formed unique demographic and spatial characteristics. In terms of population, students occupy an unusually high proportion of the permanent resident population in cities and towns, and rural students' families generally adopt the spatial distribution pattern of "city-city double habitat".Accompanying parents and left-behind children generally coexist in the same space. In terms of space, there are some phenomena such as unbalanced distribution of urban schools, homogenization of urban land value, and spatial overflow of activities and functions in the school. In addition, the evolution of "school going to town" was initiated and led by the government, and coincided with the decision making of most rural students' families.(2)the urbanization driven by basic education covers two types of urbanization behaviors: short-term migration and long-term settlement, which not only brings "flow" but also "increment".On the one hand, the families of short-term floating students are mostly seen in high schools.Under the pressure of "college entrance examination",they make short-term renting decisions in the school year, forming the phenomenon of "tide of the school year".School is the core of family activities. On the other hand, the families of students who have settled down for a long time are mostly seen in middle schools and primary schools. The core logic of family decision making is to make the high-quality education resources in cities and towns run through their children's basic education career,so that their quality and ability can be continuously improved, and their space activities are centered on home. The long-term educational needs of children are in line with the urban life needs of family members, which promotes the decision of citizenization of families to settle down for a long time.(3)on the micro level, the division of labor pattern of rural students' families changes from "semiindustry and semi-agriculture " to "semi-industry and accompanying schooling".On the one hand, for the sake of intergenerational reproduction, families strive for high-quality educational resources in cities and towns. On the other hand, the family cost in rural-urban mobility surges due to the competition of education, and the family labor force has to work in other places to improve the labor income. As the rural population generally lacks the initial capital accumulation centered on the urban housing when they enter the city, they form the discrete rural families. The impetus lies in the fact that the rural families bear the sharp increase in the education cost caused by the intensified education competition. The transformation of micro-family unit from close distance to discrete distribution makes the process of local urbanization sluggish, and presents a new landscape of urbanization interwoven with local and remote areas.(4)on the basis of empirical research, summarize the internal logic of urbanization driven by basic education.First, basic education is essentially a process of intergenerational reproduction and capital transformation of families.Second, economic capital input and time cost is the main power guarantee the process is completed, both need to be performed by family members, their dependence on different features of space, family general discrete due to two space not overlap in long distance, and formed the special "discrete urbanization".Finally, the long-term education and short-term education is two different stage in the process, has the characteristics of differentiation,long-term education driven urbanization in conformity with the urbanization of production and living demand driven, objectively promoted the urbanization and urbanization process, and short-term education drives home let students into teachers is strong, good at training examination level high school, for this long distance migration at price, liquidity of the urbanization has significant characteristics. The whole thesis contains about 60 000 words,55 pictures and charts.
