Since ancient times,education discipline has always been a popular and conventional way of education from home and abroad.However,as the “studentoriented” educational idea constantly goes deeper,more and more people criticize and argue this way of education.Teachers have been widely and frequently blamed for education discipline.The regular educational work has also been impacted.Therefore,this study analyzes and discusses the current plights of teachers in the situations of education discipline,and tries to find out the reasons and solutions.This study is based on the theories of pedagogy,psychology,educational administration and philosophy related to education discipline.Taking N Primary School in D City of Jiangsu Province as the participant in this case study,field research was conducted on the teachers,students and parents' understanding of education discipline,as well as the teachers' replies under the circumstances of education discipline by means of questionnaire,field interviews and other methods.This study tries to solve the following core problems: What do teachers,students and parents think about education discipline? What are the replies of the teachers under the circumstances of education discipline? What are the current plights of primary school teachers in the situations of education discipline? What are the reasons for the teachers' plights in the situations of education discipline?This study has found that,although education discipline seems to have obvious theoretical,legal and political basis at the level of necessity,it's controversial and complicated at the level of reality.The students,parents and teachers from the school have different cognitions on the issue of education discipline.They haven't built consensus.As the key actor,the teachers are still skeptical and overcautious when they face the disputes about education discipline.Combining with the specific practical investigations on the teachers' discipline,the author finds that the teachers will put themselves into plights when they exercise the disciplinary authority to some extent.Specific performances are as follows: the decline of teachers' authority,the alienation between teachers and students,the escalation of family-school contradiction,the decrease of working enthusiasm,the loss of legitimate rights,the increase of mental pressure,the wavering of occupational belief and the decline of social reputation.In general,educational discipline is difficult to be properly implemented,and the occupational environment of teachers is less optimistic.Behind these plights,our laws,students,parents,the school,the society,even the teachers themselves,have various degrees of influence on the plights' formation.In the view of the phanomena and reasons,the author puts forward some appropriate and referrible strategies,in the hope of providing the view for primary school teachers to get out of educational plights and the educational ecology to improve.
