Research On The Influence And Mechanism Of Informal Employment On Personal Income

As a country with a large population and rich labor resources,China's employment problem is also very prominent.In the context of increasing employment pressures,the scale of the informal sector and informal employment in China continues to expand.Employment in the informal sector can not only ease the employment problem in our country,but also play an important role in China's economic development.Income is an important manifestation of the level of economic development,so it is necessary to study the impact of informal employment on income.What impact does informal employment have on household income? Given the difference in income between regular and informal workers,does informal employment have a different impact on the two? Based on the above questions,the article first studies the impact of informal employment on the personal income of residents,and further studies the impact of informal employment on the income of regular and informal workers,Finally,it analyzes the impact mechanism of informal employment on the income of different employed people.Based on the existing literature,this article first analyzes the impact of informal employment on residents' income and its impact mechanism based on economic growth theory and related theories on the causes of informal employment,and then uses the micro-data of the China Household Income Survey(CHIP)in the Mincer income model.Informal employment was added to the survey to examine the impact of informal employment on income.The results show that:(1)From the overall sample,the expansion of informal employment is conducive to the growth of personal income.(2)From the sub-samples,there is a difference in the impact of the scale of informal employment on the income of different employees,and the impact on the income of informal workers exceeds that of formal employees.(3)Informal employment mainly increases the income of informal employees by increasing the probability of employment,and increases the income of regular employees by optimizing the industrial structure.
