Since China's industrial development entered an in-depth adjustment phase,the industry as a whole has been developing rapidly.The industry develops from a lower level of technology and added value to high technology and added value.The industrial structure has evolved from a low level to a high level,but in the context of globalization China's manufacturing industry is still at the bottom of the global value chain.At the same time,as countries increase investment in technological innovation,artificial intelligence,the Internet,big data,and cloud computing are gradually promoting the acceleration of the technological revolution and advancing modern information.The integration of technology and production areas is a serious challenge for the development of China's manufacturing industry."Made in China 2025" proposes to achieve a transformation from a manufacturer of quantity to one of manufacturing powerto achieve transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry.Industrial upgrading is an urgent task facing China.It includes not only economic development issues but also employment issues at the social level.The continuous promotion of industrial upgrading is accompanied by changes in the total employment and employment structure.Whether or not industrial upgrading and employment development are coordinated is one of the criteria for measuring the health of a country or region,and how the effect of industrial upgrading on employment is gradually increasing.Become a hot topic of concern.This article introduces the concept of industrial upgrading,and believes that industrial upgrading is mainly reflected in the improvement of the technological level and the upgrading of the industrial structure.Among them,the improvement of the technological level,that is,technological progress,industrial structure upgrading,that is,the evolution of the industrial structure from a low level to a high level.The process can be divided into:the direction of changes in the industrial structure and the speed of change in the industrial structure.Therefore,this article will study the effect of industrial upgrading on employment from two aspects:technological progress and industrial structure upgrading.At present,the research on the impact of industrial upgrading on employment is generally based on its impact on total employment,and there is a certain controversy on the research results,and studies on the impact of industrial upgrading on the skills structure of employment and the coordination of employment structure are relatively blank.This paper uses a combination of theoretical and empirical methods to study the impact of industrial upgrading on employment,including employment size and employment structure,that is,based on the analysis of the mechanism of action,the construction of theoretical models and the use of panel data for 31 provinces in 2005-2015 to conduct empirical research.This article includes 6 parts in total,the first part is the introduction,mainly introduces the research background,methods,innovation and so on.The second part is the research summary.On the one hand,it defines the concept of industrial upgrading and employment structure.On the other hand,it reviews and summarizes literature research on the impact of technological progress and industrial structure upgrading on employment.In the third part,we first introduce the current situation of China's current industrial upgrading and employment development from two aspects of technological progress and industrial structure upgrading,and secondly,analyze the mechanism of technological progress and industrial structure upgrading on employment.The fourth part is an empirical analysis of the effect of industrial upgrading on the scale of employment.The results show that:technological progress and employment have positively promoted relations,the direction of changes in industrial structure has a significant positive employment effect,while the speed of industrial structure changes has a negative employment effect,but it is not significant.The fifth part is to empirically study the impact of industrial upgrading on the employment structure.One aspect of industrial upgrading,that is,technological progress,will have a certain impact on the skills structure of employment.The empirical results show that technological progress contributes to the optimization of the skills structure of employment.Technological progress shows skill bias.The other aspect of industrial upgrading,that is,the speed of industrial structure changes,will have a certain impact on the coordination of employment structure.The empirical results show that the speed of changes in the industrial structure and the coordination of the employment structure show a negative relationship,indicating that China's current industrial structure changes faster As a result,the industrial structure and the employment structure are not coordinated,which is the main innovation of this paper.The sixth part mainly summarizes the conclusions of the research and puts forward relevant policy recommendations.
