With the continuous development of the Internet and big data technology,informatization has become an important factor of competition among counties,organizations and individuals;the demand for information security services and products is growing exponentially in different social groups,which stimulate the emergence and development of the information security industry.At the same time,public security awareness in our country has been continuously enhanced recent years,information security related projects are strongly supported by the government policies,information security markets are constantly growing,and the scale of the information security industry is increasing even more rapidly,which leads to the growing demand for the professional human resources,however,the talents introduction and cultivation still cannot be well adapted to the development of the industry in the current situation,especially in lacking of research staffs..the key resources,makes it hard for further development.As for information security industry,improvments for human resources have already became an urgent,while research and development are always playing the most important roles in information security industry,the significance of the research staffs is self.evident.In this thesis,we study the core competency for research staffs in information security industry,firstly,we analyze the business environment for the researchers,briefly elaborate the structure and characteristic of the related personnel.By analyzing the professional duties and work process for the researchers,we can learn the proper work environment and work content for research staffs to release their potential,and also have a better understanding on why these competencies are required.In the meanwhile,we extract 3 dimensions with total 18 indicators of core competency by combining the bibliographical information with realities,with which we conduct a questionnaire survey to personnel related to information security industry,some statistical analysis have been made for each indicator of the core competency based on the valid questionnaire,with the organization and personal characteristics information we also study the impact of different customer groups on the final results,moreover,the inner relationship among these indicators and the importance of each indicator has been analyzed in this thesis,while the weights for indicators are obtained by calculation.The results of this study indicate that the necessary core competency for an outstanding research staff includes:the ability of analyzing and solving problem,innovative thinking,learning skills and compressive capacity,in addition,research staffs can be more competitive in an overall evaluation by owning excellent market analyzing skills,innovative thinking,learning skills,problem.analyzing and problem.solving skills and communication skills.Finally,we apply the competency model to HR management so that a scientific measurement can be provided for recruiting,training,performance evaluation and career planning for research staffs in information security industry,this work is considered to be able to provide a reference for improving research staffs' core competency in practice.
