As the development of knowledge and information technology, the importance of human capital has become increasingly prominent for enterprises. There is an urgent need to make full use of the employees' intellectual resources to improve efficiency and deal with competition. Therefore, enterprises are hoping employees can actively participate in organizational decision-making,be initiative and responsible. However, there is a phenomenon in the organization, even if the employee discovers the potential problems in work or has advices to improve the efficiency of the department and organization, she or he will filter her or his opinions and keep silence for a variety of reasons. The silence behavior in the organization has seriously decreased the quality of decision-making and organizational effectiveness. Therefore, the research of employee silence behavior will not only benefit to the development of business management theory, but also be far-reaching significance to the practice of the enterprise. In previous studies of employee silence behavior, leaders were considered to be key factors leading to employee silence. As the manager and supervisor, leader has an important impact on employee's behavior. This research focuses on leader exemplification in order to discover the relationship between leader exemplification and emloyees silence behavior.Meanwhile, introducing of trust in supervisor to explore its mediational effect in this model. In addition, the research also examines the moderating effects of perception of organizational politics between the leader exemplification and employee silence behavior. This research is based on the data from the first line employees of a world top 500 manufacturing company in Nanjing. We did the reliability and validity test based on the data collected by questionnaire. Then hierarchical regression method was used to test the hypotheses. The results show that, the leader exemplification has a significant negative impact on the employee silence behavior, while the factor of trust in supervisor plays a partly mediational role in the relationship between the leader exemplification and employee silence behavior. The perception of organization politics has a positive moderating effect on the relationship between the leader exemplification and the employee silence behavior.Compared with high level of the perception of organization politics, leader exemplification's negative effect on employee silence is more pronounced when the perception of organization politics is low.And the moderating effect of the perception of organization politics on employee silence behavior is mediated by employee's trust in supervisor. This paper emphasized the importance of the influence of the leader exemplification on employee silence behavior. And it also suggested the leader to change their behaviors to guide employees to reduce silence behavior and express opinions freely in business practice. What's more, enterprises also need to create a good and orderly environment, and actively respond to the behavior of employees,so as to stimulate employees to break the status of silence and positively speaking.
