A Study On Supplier Management At HXM

The global economy develops more rapidly since the 21th century,but the shrinking market demand brings about the downturn in manufacturing,which make the fierce competition between different companies focus more on the supply chain management,especially on supplier management.How the supply chain works affects the business efficiency directly and badly.Only in the right way to improve the supplier management with proper strategy and process,can the company benefit from the competition to expand the market and gain profits.Meanwhile,the market trends for individual customized demands bring about the feature with HMLV(high mixed low volume supply)to meet in short time.This is indeed a challenge to manufacturers like HXM to deal with.This paper focus on HXM's supplier management,in the circumstance of unclear commodity and supplier strategy,weak in supplier control power,long lead time and superfluous process to introduce and qualify supplier,incomplete supplier evaluation and exit process,which results in unnecessary resources wasted.Only gain much improvement in the perspective of supplier management,commodity and supplier strategy,supplier development(sourcing),supplier introduction and exit process,especially consider supplier perception model and build long term cooperation relationship,can HXM improve the supplier management,and achieve the target of cost reduction,delivery flexibility with better quality,and more market shares.The purpose for this study is to develop a proper commodity category strategy and supplier management strategy,by means of suppliers' development,selection,evaluation,introduction and exit process.This real case study is considered meaningful for domestic manufacturer to understand how to enter foreign owned company supply chain system,also a reference to commodity and supplier management strategy,supplier introduction and exit procedure.
