In the twenty-first Century,the compelling demand of self-fulfilled talents and the pressure of market competition have made life-long learning widely accepted.How to study effectively and systematically is one of the biggest challenges for enterprises and its employees who have been out of school for long.From twentieth Century onwards,some financial and manufacturing enterprises of US came up with a new concept of "corporate university".As the world's super economic power,the United States has fully developed its corporate university system.The operation of successful business universities has played an important role in promoting US economic development.This study is aimed to explore the experimental function of the corporate university to facilitate company to develop its learning organization which is an important move to raise the status of enterprises in the market.Meanwhile,corporate university is a systematic learning institute characterized in its openness and innovation.It can encourage employees to share and transfer the companys knowledge resources upon which the innovation can be achieved.It can also be served as an effective platform of intellectual management,and thus fundamentally raise the core competitiveness of the enterprise.Three factors of management and operation model of US corporate universities have been studied and analyzed.They are the orientation of strategic position,the core of educational system and the support of management system.Theoretical analysis will be applied in the Case study of HP University and GE Crotonville with thorough comparison of these two subjects in terms of strategic position,educational system and management system.This study draws conclusion that Chinese corporate universities can employ the following three aspects from the successful operation model of US schools:firstly,in terms of strategic position,the development goals should be closely related to the strategic demand of the parent firm;the aim of education should be accurate and explicit;the served target should be evolved from internal staff to the entire value chain.Secondly,for the educational system,a core course and a position-ability ?curriculum system should be well established;The existing teachers system should be improved and a performance evaluation system be built.Thirdly,in the management system,the investment should be increased;an organizational structure of the college should be adopted to create a learning organization,to exert the influence of knowledge management,and to advocate people of interests to engage in the management.Undoubtedly,China's enterprises should also pay attention to the cultural differences between China and US,the localization of the American experience,the public welfare and the profit in the process of implementing American enterprise university operation system.
