In the current economic and social environment which are full of fierce· competition and complex uncertain factors,the importance and necessity of innovation to the organization is growing with each passing day.It can be said that"innovate or die" is available for almost any company.As we know,innovative behavior of employees is the source of enterprise innovation,but also one of the key factors of enterprise innovation capability and innovation performance.Obviously,employees are the main body and practitioners of enterprise innovation."How to motivate their innovative behavior" has become an important theme faced by researchers and managers together.However,most of the existing researches are based on the perspective of leading factors and organizational factors to answer this question,less researches pay attention to individual personality differences in the impact on employees' innovative behavior.In fact,the employees' will or behaviors to participate in innovation in a large extent depends on the individual factors,for example,both personality traits and psychological cognition play an important role in employees' innovative behavior.That is to say,research on the relationship between individual factors and innovative behavior is of great theoretical significance and practical value.Therefore,this paper is based on the perspective of individual factors to answer this problem of how to stimulate employees' innovative behavior.This paper focuses on the effect mechanism of proactive personality in Chinese context on employees' innovative behavior.The data is collected by questionnaires designed for this study,in addition,SPSS 19.0 and AMOS 17.0 statistical analysis software are used for data analysis and testing.Then we draw the following conclusions empirically:Proactive personality can positively predict employees'innovative behavior and its two factors,the employees' behavior that bringing creative thought and the employees' behavior that performing creative thought;Creative self-efficacy partly mediates the relationship between proactive personality and employees' innovative behavior;Otherwise work engagement and its dimensions,vigor,dedication,absorption play a part intermediary role in the relationship between proactive personality and employees' innovative behavior;The demographic variables have significant differences on study variables:age,gender,marital status,educational background,work experience have significant impact on proactive personality and creative self-efficacy,as for the nature of the organization employees working in,it has significant impact on employees' innovative behavior.According to the research conclusions,the corresponding management implications are given,including:selecting and cultivating innovative talents with scientific methods,enhancing employees' creative self-efficacy,caring employees and paying attention to their work condition and so on.In the end,according to the limitations of this study,prospects for the future research is proposed,such as increasing the number of samples,launching paired samples,using longitudinal study,and so on.
