The Research On The Effect Of China's Industrial Agglomeration On International Intra-industry Division Of Labor

In the new period,industrial agglomeration is still an important organization model for our industry's development,which promotes the development of China's industry and economy.At the same time,the rapid development of information technology makes the international division of labor appear in a multi-level pattern,and kinds of forms develop in parallel.The international division of labor is deepening from the product level to the production process level,forming a pattern of intra-industry horizontal division of labor and intra-industry vertical division of labor.Taking part in the international division of labor voluntarily will be an inevitable choice for China's industrial industry.Then,would the organizational pattern of industrial agglomeration be the help of China's participation in the international intra-industry division of labor,or would the regional market formed by industrial agglomeration slow down the pace of participation? The solution of this problem will provide new thoughts for the local policies making and industrial development.In view of this,the paper analyzes the effect of industrial agglomeration on the international intra-industry division of labor in China,completing the lack of existing research in this field.The paper first combs the theory of industrial agglomeration 's economic effect and two intra-industry division of labor's motivation,which are intra-industry horizontal division and intra-industry vertical specialization,so as to have a deeper insight into the economic relations between the two.Undertaking these theories,combined with the differences between the two international divisions of labor,we respectively analyze the specific paths and mechanisms of industrial agglomeration affecting intra-industry horizontal division of labor and intra-industry vertical specialization.Secondly,we match and process the Industrial Enterprise Database and Chinese Customs Enterprise Database,and calculate the indicators in industry-county level.In order to have a more pertinent and complete analyzing,we still divide the international division of labor into the intra-industry horizontal division of labor and the intra-industry vertical specialization two indicators further.The empirical test shows that industrial agglomeration has a positive effect on promoting China's industrial participation in intra-industry horizontal division of labor and intra-industry vertical specialization,even considering endogenous problems,the results are still very steady.The industry's participation in international division of labor is different in different stages of its development.It has a diminishing tendency in the initial period of industrial development in consideration of its own growth,then gradually increasing the participation degree after entering stable growth period.In addition,the difference of resources existing in coastal inland area makes industrial agglomeration's effect differently in promoting intra-industry horizontal or vertical division of labor in these areas.On this basis,considering the trend of China's economic development,the paper puts forward several policy recommendations,such as promoting industrial agglomeration,enhancing industrial competitiveness through industrial agglomeration,and actively participating in intra-industry division of labor.
