A Study On The Comparative Benefit And Households Willingness To Plant Of Rape In Hubei Province

By analyzing the comparative advantages,the comparative benefit and households willingness to plant(WTP)based on the background of agricultural supply-side structural reforms.,this paper explores the reasons for the decline of sowing area in Hubei Province in recent years and the future development of the industry from the perspective of objective endowment,efficiency and subjective intenton.First,this paper calculate the comparative advantage and comparative benefit by using the comprehensive advantage index method and the comparative benefit method.Then,based on investigation data from Hubei province and by using binary logistic regression model,this paper analyses the willingness to plant rapeseed(WTP)of farmer households,and the key factors that affect the WTP are also probed into by the authors.Finally,put forward some relevant policy recommendations about the crop production layout and the future development of industry based on the main conclusions.In terms of endowment or from the perspective of efficiency,rapeseed has production advantage to a certain degree in comparison with wheat in Hubei province.and the result of empirical analysis shows that the dominant factors affected farmers' WTP are as follows: the net income per acre of rapeseed planting,the amount of damages caused by disastrous weather and crop diseases and pests,and the actual situation whether most local farmers had the rapeseed planting habit or not.Then we draw a conclusion about the main reason for the decrease of rapeseed sowing area in recent years: the income of rapeseed planting and the enthusiasm of WTP are declining after the adjustment of oil storage policy,and the relocation of farmers engaged in secondary and tertiary industries or fallow farming shows the trend of expansion under the influence of others.Based on the conclusion,some countermeasures and policy suggestions are put forward such as reducing production costs via multiple channels,improving the net profit ratio of rapeseed planting,and avoiding the planting risks by using the futures market and perfecting the supporting policies.
