An Empirical Study Of The Factors Affecting Farmers' Willingness To Grow Potatoes From The Perspective Of Potato Staple Food Project

Potato and the potato staple food project has received extensive attention from all social circles since China put forward the potato staple food project in 2013.Up to now,with the continuous advancement of potato staple food project,the breeding of potato special varieties of potato staple food project has been basically successful,potato steamed bread,noodles,pastries and other potato staple food products have been introduced to consumers,various forms of potato staple food publicity have also gradually penetrated into the hearts of the people.In this background,this thesis is to explore farmers' planting willingness and influencing factors in the propulsive process of potato staple food project.The aim is to provide decision-making support for farmers' production in the propulsive process of potato staple food project.The main research idea of this thesis is to put forward some thoughts on the realization of the goal of the potato staple food project on the basis of combing the background of the potato staple food project.It is believed that the progress of potato staple food project needs to be carried out by multiple pipes and joint efforts,but at the same time,it is also inseparable from the strong support of farmers in planting.Therefore,the thesis analyzes the current situation and outstanding problems of potato industry development in China,takes 362 farmers from important potato planting areas in China——3 counties,12 townships and 24 villages in Gansu province,northwestern China as the research object,carries out a field survey,analyzes behaviors of farmers planting potatoes and its main influencing factors by using the Logistic model method.The results of the study come to the following conclusions.The higher the farmers' understanding of the potato staple food project,the higher their willingness to grow potato.The higher the farmers' cultural level,the higher their willingness to grow potato.The shorter the planting years of potato,the higher the willingness to grow potato.The higher the farmers' understanding of potato planting process,the higher their willingness to grow potato.The higher the farmers' family income,the higher their willingness to grow potato.The greater the country's support for potato planting,the higher the farmers' willingness to grow potato.The higher the price of potato,the higher the farmers' willingness to grow potato.The better the sale for potato,the higher the farmers' willingness to grow potato.It is preliminarily indicated that since the potato staple food project has been put forward,a number of new business entities have captured the information of national potato staple food project which are full of expectations for the potato industry and have high willingness to grow.Based on the above research,this thesis puts forward some policy suggestions on promoting potato staple food project from the peasant household level,such as strengthening publicity and guidance of the potato staple food project,thinking highly of innovation and development of potato varieties and cultivation techniques,popularizing virus-free seed potato,establishing and improving the support system for potato production,formulating price stabilization policy of potatoes and so on.
