How to effectively capture demands of the customer and conduct value proposition in the intense business activities so as to provide targeted innovative products and services has become more and more important.It's a challenge to the traditional new product development process.After years' practice and application,Design for Six Sigma is regarded as an effective tool for new product development and widely used in new product development process,some global innovative product development organizations and R&D centers of global company have established the process and method based on design for Six Sigma,and built best practices."Made in China 2025" clearly put forward the adoption of Six Sigma methodology to strengthen the quality level of Chinese manufacturing.Based on Design for Six Sigma and taking the actual new product development of H Company as a case,this paper systematically interprets the new product development process based on design for Six Sigma.The methods used in this study are literature analysis,case study and questionnaire survey.Adopts literature analysis method to collect,identify,and organize new product development process,Design for Six Sigma(DFSS)related literature.Study Six Sigma(DMAIC)and DFSS theory,methods,processes,and tools,Adopt case study method to analyze new product development process of H Company,describe new product development process and related tools,and summarize the validity of Design for Six Sigma in innovation application.Adopt questionnaire survey method to evaluate the application of new product development process that base on Design for Six Sigma.This Study is based on a case of new product development,and expounds how to apply DFSS Tools in new product development process,and provide the guiding suggestions for the implementation of the new process,so that management experience can be duplicated and tailored.In the application of experimental design tool(DOE),the method of combining computer aided engineering simulation with experimental design is introduced,which expands the application of experimental design,making the combination of advanced technology and DFSS tools.At the stage of understanding customer needs,intellectual property check is initiated to prevent infringement of new concepts in new product development,and identify and create patents that need protection.Legal risk management is implemented on traditional DFSS.This study can be concluded that as the best practice,Design for Six Sigma Can beeffectively used in the new product process,and it is a.good foundation to support the innovation of new product development.Adopt the stage-gate new product developmentprocess,perform value-driven and proactive.activities such as risk management,forward extend new..product development process,and improve related tools.The formed reproducible processes,methods and tools can provide theoretical support and referential tool for people engaging in R&D and technology management.
