Research On The Feasibility Analysis And Countermeasures Of The Development Of Urban Rooftop Farms

Agricultural production,ecological greening and urban architecture are combined by rooftop farms,which can not only contribute to the urban afforestation and the construction of the sponge city,but be conducive to the diversification of food supply.Therefore,it is of great significance to conduct the research.This paper concentrates on the development status of the rooftop farms in both China and foreign countries through such methods as literature research,case analysis,interdisciplinary research,induction and summarization.The experiences of rooftop farms development in foreign countries are learned to analyze the crucial technology and limitation of rooftop farms development,thus giving opinions about developing the rooftop farms in China.In accordance with a comprehensive analysis of our rooftop farms development,several findings have been made.Firstly,compared with other rooftop greening methods,the construction and development of the rooftop farms played a great role,particularly in promoting the diversification of food supply,energy saving and emission reduction as well as the building of the sponge city.Secondly,a detailed explanation on the design philosophy and structure constructing of the rooftop farms was made;technical points of each construction link were paid much attention;and differences of some structural levels in different areas were analyzed.Thirdly,the pivotal technology of constructing the rooftop farms was summarized,and the features of each technology as well as its diversities of application to southern and northern areas were analyzed.Finally,the issues existing in the construction of the rooftop farms was discussed thoroughly,and the factors to prevent the development of the rooftop farms were concluded.Based on the restrictive factors in the development of the rooftop farms,several solutions are put forward in the paper.Firstly,the technology of building the rooftop farms and construction materials should be tremendously improved,and highly qualified construction team should be developed.Secondly,the first priority should be given to talent-training system of scientific research institutions in colleges and universities.Thirdly,the construction and development of the rooftop farms project should be added to the legislation and regional planning,thus ensuring the support of policies,meanwhile,the development of rooftop farms and the development strategy of the sponge city should be combined.Fourthly,the development potentials of available rooftop farms should be tapped through a thorough data investigation.Fifthly,the PPP construction mode should be introduced;capital sources should be increased;and respective supervision system should be established.Finally,a new development framework should be created by learning from other countries in terms of the rooftop farms.I hope you can gain a comprehensive understanding of the rooftop farms from this paper,and it will contribute to the development of rooftop farms,thus achieving our great “Chinese Dream”.
