According to the theory of transformational leadership and work characteristics,this paper builds a research model to reveal the impact of direct managerial leadership behavior on the employees IT innovation use.Through the empirical research method of questionnaire survey,we collected 315 copies of empirical data from employees in the IT,finance,communications,and manufacturing of China.The results of the structural equation model show that the organizational innovation climate and work autonomy have a significant mediating effect on the relationship between transformational leadership behaviors and the use of IT innovation: the transformative leadership qualities of direct leaders(Inspiritional Incentives,Interpersonal Communication,Intellectual stimulation)is positively related to the organizational innovation climate perceived by employees,and the organizational innovation climate can effectively promote the use of employee IT innovation.In the influence of transformational leadership characteristics on the use of IT innovation,the innovation atmosphere has played a partial intermediary role.Work autonomy and IT knowledge of employees in the company also have a positive impact on the use of IT innovation.The empirical study also found that the impact of direct leaders on employee IT innovation use is regulated by the gender of employees: the impact of transformational leadership and innovation climate on the use of IT innovation is stronger in women than men;The impact of job autonomy on IT innovation use is stronger in men than women.Based on the theory of transformational leadership and the work autonomy,this paper combines the actual application of information systems in domestic companies,we constructs a theoretical model of transformational leadership and IT innovation use,and explores the key mechanisms that influence employee IT innovations.The conclusions of the empirical research will help the enterprise's IT implementation,management and decision-making,as well as the formulation of policies in daily operations.The direct managers can lead the company to success through effective leadership behaviors,promoting the innovative use of information technology by the employees,maximizing the effectiveness of the company's IT system,and fully exploring new uses.To improve the service level of the company,reduce costs,and exploit innovation to obtain competitive advantage,this study has a important practical significance.
