Ability Evaluation Of Guangzhou Serves The Pearl River Delta

Guangzhou,as the most prosperous core city in the Pearl River Delta Economic Region,possesses a solid foundation in industrial supporting capacity,technological level,financial services and human resources,which also promotes the development of commerce and trade in Guangzhou and strengthens its tradition lead role model.Proposed in the "13th Five-Year" development layout that Guangzhou City should consolidate and improve its Millennium status as a capital of trade as well as building international shipping center,logistics center,trade center and a modern financial service system.We should further assume our responsibility as the central cities and provincial capital cities,and give full play of the power producer and the growth pole role in the whole country's development.Through the above construction,the radiation impact of Guangzhou in the Pearl River Delta region will be deepened.The thesis analyzes Guangzhou's ability to support the Pearl River Delta through combing theory with practice and proposes the suggestion of optimizing the industrial structure and improve the urban software and hardware environment to enhance Guangzhou's foreign-oriented service capacity based on the empirical result.In the theoretical part,this thesis summarizes the conduction flow of the urban foreign service theory by analyzing the assemble theory,the theory of urban agglomeration development and the theory of diffusion effect.In the case illustration part,some specific indicators such as location quotient,extroverted function and urban function efficiency are selected based on the urban flow model to calculate the intensity of urban flow and the foreign-oriented service capacity of 11 cities in Pearl River Delta,and compare the difference of foreign service capacity between Guangzhou and other cities in the Pearl River Delta.The study shows that the intensity of urban flow in the 11 cities of the Pearl River Delta is of great disparity.Guangzhou ranks third,which is inferior to Hong Kong and Shenzhen,indicating that Guangzhou's foreign service capacity is affected by Hong Kong and Shenzhen.Limited to the size of the city and the industrial structure of the gambling industry,Macao has a weak impact on Guangzhou's outgoing function.Finally,this thesis suggests that Guangzhou's ability should be enhanced to serve the Pearl River Delta through strengthening cooperation with Hong Kong,optimizing industrial structure and improving urban software and hardware environment to build Guangzhou into an international metropolis that embrace the world and serves the whole country.
