Under the background of China's entry into the “New Normal”,the transformation and upgrading of industries is imperative. And the IT industry,as a strategic emerging industry, has a strong multiplier effect,so it is necessary to carry out a deep research. This paper mainly uses the F(?)re-Primont index to measure and decompose the total factor productivity(TFP)of a company. The impact of R&D investment on total factor productivity of enterprises is studied based on differences in export choices, regions, and ownerships. The results of the study show that exporting companies have higher TFP and R&D investment efficiency. When using LP method, the results are also robust. At the same time, there is a clear difference in TFP between firms in the region. The TFP of the developed areas is higher while the R&D input has a lower contribution to the TFP.When the Propensity Score Matching method(PSM)is used to test, the conclusion is also robust. In the case of distinguishing the type of ownership, there are some differences between the FP index and the LP index.Due to the different principles of the method, there are differences in the measurement results and it can be understood. However, the two measurement methods show consistency in the changes of TFP.Both show that the TFP of state-owned and non-state-owned enterprises have shown an upward trend in recent years, and that the increase of state-owned enterprises is larger than that of non-state-owned enterprises. In the impact of R&D investment on TFP of enterprises, private enterprises are significantly higher than state-owned enterprises.
