People may face stressful events frequently in all aspects of their lives.Dealing with daily hassles,chronic strains and life events that can be sources of stress.It has been widely acknowledged that stress has a negative impact on the health and well-being of individuals.While stress has destructive effects on the health and well-being of individuals,coping resources and strategies operate as a crucial influence on the relation between stress and health.Coping is a central concept for theory and research on adaptation and health[3].Despite the leisure may serve to mediate or moderate stress,some research suggested that leisure itself could actually cause stress[4].Several studies in the field of leisure,recreation and tourism have explored the situations that participants in leisure activities,outdoor recreation setting and travel feel stressful and experience stress.Although the expansion of leisure travel and stress-coping research,a major research question that needs to be investigated further is:how tourists deal with these stress in order to maximize the positive outcomes of their travel experience.Still,it is not entirely clear what roles the stress acts in the leisure travel.Thus,the purpose of the study is to examine how tourists deal with stress experienced during a vacation.Specifically,the research aims to identify and categorize the tourists' stress and coping strategies in the context of leisure travel.To achieve this goal,this qualitative study is approached by a methodology of ethnography which is conducted with semi-structured interviews and participant observation in a theme park in China.
