An Empirical Study On The Evaluation Of Manufacturing Industry Core Competitiveness In Hubei Province

After rapid development since the reform and opening up in 1978,China now has become the world's largest manufacturing power country.In the past two years,the state has issued a series of policies and measures centering on the “Made in China 2025” strategy.The report of the 11 th Party Congress of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee pointed out that “ "Accelerate the transformation of industrial structure optimization,deepening the implementation of the " Hubei 2025 Hubei Platform for Action ",accelerating the building of a strong quality province,and become an important national advanced manufacturing center,laying the foundation for the overall transformation and development of the manufacturing industry." Hubei Province,as a traditional manufacturing province,has a relatively solid foundation,but there is still a big gap compared with developed regions domestic and foreign,especially after the economic growth shifts to medium-and high-speed,the manufacturing industry needs to move toward high-end industries.How to determine the competitiveness of Hubei's manufacturing industry,how to enhance the competitive advantage of Hubei's manufacturing industry under the new normal and accelerate the transformation of Hubei's manufacturing industry from large to strong,become the current urgent need to answer during the 13 th Five-Year Plan period.First,it defines the basic connotation and analyzes the factors that affect the core competitiveness of the manufacturing industry.Based on the above,it constructs an index system to evaluate the core competitiveness of the manufacturing industry.Secondly,construct an evaluation model system that includes the first-level indicators of five dimensions including innovation capability,industrialized information integration,quality and efficiency,green development,and scale strength,as well as 18 secondary indicators including regulatory manufacturing output.Next,the paper combines the status quo of Hubei's manufacturing industry development,competitiveness performance and existing problems with the evaluation model,and uses the principal component analysis method to empirically evaluate the core competitiveness of Hubei's manufacturing industry and find out the important factors that lead to the poor competitiveness of Hubei's manufacturing industry.Finally,draw on the advanced experience in promoting the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industries in Shanghai,Zhejiang,and Shenzhen to give suggestions on how to improve the core competitiveness of Hubei manufacturing.
