Pipe Branch of Kunlun New Building Material Co. Ltd of Daqing Oil Field(KPB)enters China’s plastic compound pipe industry very early, and hasglorious future for its development. However, KPB didn’t realize its corecompetitiveness and didn’t treat it as the main source of competitiveness. In thecondition that the pipe market is developing and the competitors are developing,KPB has to identify its advantages and promote its core competitiveness, or elsethe development of KPB will be blocked which will further threat KPB’ssurvival.This thesis makes detailed study on the core competitiveness of KPB. Basedon the literature review and the analysis of the basic conditions of KPB, thethesis firstly analyzes the strategic resources of KPB, including products, humanresources and financial resources, and KPB of production management capability,R&D capability and marketing capability. The thesis also analyzes theenvironment of KPB, the pipe industry and KPB’s main competitors. Then thethesis proposes the discipline and method for selecting the measurement indexesof KPB’s core competitiveness, and constructs the measurement index system,and assesses KPB’s core competitiveness. By analyzing the assessing results, thethesis identifies the advantages in KPB’s core competitiveness, and finds out itsproblems and analyzes the causes of these problems. At last, the thesis designsthe objectives of promoting KPB’s core competitiveness according to theadvantages and disadvantages of KPB’s core competitiveness, and proposessuggestions for promoting KPB’s core competitiveness.
