Traditional sequential engineering has the flowing organizational structure and development process.The points of every phase are very clear,and the working people in every phase are relatively stable.This kind of development mode is convenient for enterprise management,and the stable working environment is easy for the building of friendly working atmosphere.But by the complexion of productrequirements and personalization of customers,this development mode can't meet the users' need because the possibility of resource wasting.However,concurrent engineering is a new mode of product development and a new philosophy of product development organization and management.It replaces the traditional idea of sequential engineering and emphasizes the concurrent,coordination and integration in the early phase of product development,which is aiming to increase the creation ability of enterprise and quality of product.The emerging of concurrent engineering reflects the urgent request of creation ability and high quality product,and it needs more and more scholars and practitioners to take part in the research of concurrent engineering.This paper is using concurrent engineering to reconfigure the design-manufacture research model of product by 203 Institute.At first,the concept development mode is introduced,and the emphasis of this paper is the organizational structure and development process.Then the situation and problems of recent development mode of 203 Institute are listed.By the idea of concurrent engineering,this paper builds the integrated product teams(IPT)of design-manufacture cross-sectional phases,and reconfigures the development process according to traditional one.Then this paper analyzes the risks of such a new thought and how to solve them.At last,I use a case study to prove that the idea of concurrent engineering could help the enterprise shorten the development cycle,save the development cost and increase the development quality indeed.
