Tencel is a regenerated cellulose fiber with excellent properties, which is widely used in high-end clothing and home textile fabrics. However, due to its sheath-core structure, the image is easily permeated during in the inkjet printing process, and the color depth of the pattern is poor.In this study, different types of surfactants, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC)and sodium alginate were used to modify the surface of the Tencel fabric, the change of contact angle of treated fabric and the spreading area of the reactive dye ink droplets on the fabric were tested. The surface structure of the fabric before and after modification was characterized by Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)methods, the color index and image clarity of the fabric after inkjet printing were also tested. The results showed that when the dosage of sodium dodecyl sulfate was 1%,the contact angle of diiodomethane on the fabric increased from 21.40° to 65.6°,and the spreading area of ink droplets on the fabric surface decreased from 246 mm2 to 129 mm2.When the amount of CMC was 2%and the amount of dodecyl dimethylamine oxide was 1%,compared with the fabric treated with 2%CMC,the L*value of the cyan ink printed fabric decreased from 58.7 to 57.8,the C*value increases from 46.6 to 46.8,and the K/S value increased from 11.5 to 13.4;the L*value of the magenta ink printed fabric decreased from 41.1 to 40.8,the Ca*value increased from 57.5 to 59.1,and the K/S value increased from 13.6 to 14.7;The L*value of the yellow ink printed fabric decreased from 84.6 to 84.2,the C*value increased from 84.3 to 89.8,and the K/S value increased from 11.0 to 12.4;the L*value of the black ink printed fabric decreased from 22.4 to 20.6,the C*value decreased from 6.7 to 3,5,and the K/S value increased from 14.3 to 16.5.The color depth and vividness were obviously improved, the printing fineness was significantly improved, and the color fastness index remained basically unchanged. The surface modification of Tencel fabric was carried out with a mixture of sodium alginate of different viscosity and 1%of dodecyldimethylamine oxide. The results showed that when the viscosity of sodium alginate decreased from 2509 mPa·s to 1879 mPa·s,the L*value of the cyan ink printed fabric decreased from 55.4 to 54.2,the C*value increased from 42.5 to 43.3,and the K/S value increased from 12.4 to 13.7;the L*value of the magenta ink printed fabric decreased from 45.2.44.4,the C*value increased from 53.9 to 55.4,the K/S value increased from 8.1 to 8.8;the L*value of yellow ink printed fabric decreased firom 83.8 to 83.1,the C*value increased from 75.1 to 75.8,and the K/S value from 7.0 Increased to 7.5;the L*value of the black ink printed fabric decreased from 23.0 to 22.1,the C*value did not change, and the K/S value increased from 13.8 to 14.7,the color depth and vividness increased significantly, and the color fastness index remained unchanged. This study has practical application value for improving the inkjet printing effect of Tencel fabric, and provides a technical approach to broaden the application of Tencel in high-end garments and home textile fabrics.
